About The Mix Firstly I'd like to start by dedicating this mix to one of our C2E family - Melvin Carlton Roberts who sadly recently lost his battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with those that knew and loved him. For a second year there has been no January mix however this time a hectic few weeks has been the reason, although to be honest the scene isn't awash with quality either. This mix starts off deep and tight with lot's tunes coming thick 'n' fast. Highlights for me are the opener "Marilyn" and "Matrix Plus". DJ Garphie is someone I've watched out for since Feb 2007 and whilst not everything released grabs my attention it's more than made up for with "Come Here Me Now" hopefully the sign of things to come for 2012. From there we find another gem of a track "Underground Notes 2". It's a style that's hard to describe and impossible to resist. Jeremy Sylvester comes up trumps too with his mix of "Togetherness". Those piano chords are the muts, I know why Davor can't get enough . We stay with the London vibe with "Can't Nobody" before changing down with Sean McCabe's "Race Of Survival". We go all NY with Timmy Regisford and Arnold Jarvis on "Masterpiece" before switching to a funky rump shaker on "Full Moon Highway". Richard Earnshaw steps up on "iCulture" which is a refreshing change to recent productions that haven't inspired too much, again I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come. It's great to hear Sean Escoffery's voice again this time courtesy of M&S with "So Sweetly". That's the last of the new stuff and the rest of the mix takes us back, way back...... It's starts with a very tight and tricky mix of Bernard Wright's "Spinnin'". I'll admit it's the one from Giles Peterson's superb In The House mix on Defected. I would love to know where you can actually get hold of the track, so please give me a shout if you know. It's underpinned with Tapta Beach to beef it up a little more. We then go back to 92 for "It's My Pleasure", "Keep The Faith" and "I Would Give Anything" before winding up with Madonna's "Erotica". I know, Madonna in a C2E mix, who'd have thought, but when MAW are on the remix it's more than justified.
