About The Mix This mix won't see the light of day until November 1st, but the bags under my eyes will tell you it was mixed late on the the 31st October. The sound that shaped this mix was the deep warm tracks at the start. My favourite releases of the month are all early tracks. Thanks to Nick for putting me onto the opener "Nature Boy". The second track wastes no time being introduced into the mix "System & A Diana" seems to be trying to topple "I Woke Up With Your Hair On My Hips" for crazy title of the year. Is it just me or have there been more crazy track titles than usual this year. Must be something in the water. We get down to some good square deep stuff with "Boy Meets Girl" followed by "Move On" which comes from the same E.P. (them were the days). The next track is my favourite the Spiritchaser mix of "Into My Soul" just makes you want to jump in your car, drop the windows and cruise all day and night. The next track "Moments In Time" is a great little chugger with a cracking breakdown, made all the better by the poignant vocal over the top (wasn't me this time.) This is the part where we transition into something lighter courtesy of Master Kev and Tony Loretto with their mix of "Soul Power". DJ Fudge adds a little more sugar to the mixture to make it that much sweeter with "Get Up". We turn the clock back just a little with Dennis Ferrer on an Afro tip with "Dem People Go". The mix shifts tone again and heads back down to the basement with Groove Assassin and "Bring U Up", much deeper than he usually goes. Things start to tighten up a fair old bit with "D Essential" followed by an old tune from Henry Street "Walk 4 Me", which sits so well over "The Heartbreak" it should be a remix in it's own right. Remember you heard it here first . DJ Spen let's his hair down (what there is of it) on "Something's Happenin". We lighten the mood a little with "The Street Is My World" before going way back to 92 and an OLD Azuli gem "Progresso Disco Time". We stay in 92 for a bit of Nervous with "The Anthem", but not for long. "Where Eagles Dare" is a short 'n' sweet modern electronic disco track that I can't stop playing. The mix ends with a Layabouts remake of a Sir Piers mix from 2006 of Angie Stones "I Wasn't Kidding". I'm already looking forward to driving around Sydney with "Into My Soul" for company. Thanks again to everyone that takes the time to download and an even bigger thanks to those that tell their friends about C2E. Finally to all the producers keep up all the good work, without you guys there would be no deep soulful sounds for us all to enjoy, how sad would that be?![This mix was added on the 31 October 2011]
