Mmm... listen to this a couple of times and i think you'll be joining me in making pleasurable noises from your mouth. This is a really good quality 'light and shade' type track. Former child wunderkink, from England, Brooks lays down an original for cut-n-paste tech-house pioneer Akufen to work some magic with. And boy does Akufen show well-learned restraint with the resulting effort. The glitchy beats are there, but very subdued, vaguely bubbling away deep within the mix. The obvious dark shade comes from the doubled sax stabs and the crescendo of the synth pads.. and it gives you a sense of sinister feelings.. but then comes in the light aspect straight after - that lovely, pretty, and fluffy recorder melody.. letting you know that everything is okay again :) Listening to those two extremes within a track becomes somewhat addictive i feel!
