Deep & ProgressiveTrack Review by kibbles
Mr Plastic City, Terry Lee Brown Junior, at play here with yet another solid proggy house EP on his deeply respected label. These tracks remind me of why i had a small fascination with prog about a year or 2 into my evolution through EDM - there's just such a high level of quality within the soundscapey sounds when selected by the big gun DJs in the genre (Digweed and Steve Porter were 2 guys i listened to a bit). Fast-forward 5 or so years, and whilst i would be bored out of my brain if this style of music was played for any longer than, say, 30 minutes straight - it's still a quality sound, and i would definitely incorporae these types of sound for fleeting moments when im mixing. Solid EP all round, with 2iC at Plastic City - The Timewriter - collab'ing on 'Everyday', while 'Pulsar' has a bit more a straight up tech-house sound. 'Night in Sutivan', which you're listening to, has a very OG housey feel, thanks to some small gaps in the bass and beats. - kibbles
