Perennial crate digger, DImitri From Paris (so named due to another DJ in New York at the time also calling himself Dj Dimitri, and stealing some of the Parisian's limelight), here with a rather lovely interpretation of a Mario Biondi track. A low-end double bass progression lays the foundation for various brass instruments to improvise over, including a beautifully understated tenor sax solo. Shuffling live drums add defined rhythm, and pretty chimes add charm. The baritone vocal rounds it all off.. this track work have worked just as well in 1923 as it would in 2023. Think early early morning at an afterhours house club.. say 11am after an all-night party.. and you have the right idea!
