"Smooth Mutha From A Chunky Brotha"by C2EMusicDownload | Play | Streama Soulful, Bouncy & Vocal House Music DJ Mix(0 votes - 771 plays ) |
About The Mix Bit of a dilemma this month, there always is when there's an abundance of music about, especially when it crosses different genres. Started by trying to do a purely chunky mix, but there wasn't enough of a decent quality to do a whole 80 minutes. Same again with the soulful stuff. In the end went for the best of both worlds. The first 20 minutes are smooth and creamy, and the last 20 are chunky monkey, with a discofied bouncy centre. Mix starts off with Karizma & Spens dub mix of an old classic "Brighter Days". Sean McCabe features three times this month. Does the guy ever sleep?! The first is a mix of "Save Me" by Redsoul. Atjazz must be another workaholic judging by the volume of releases about. Stand out for him right now is his Love Soul mix of "On The Beach". It's back to McCabe again in this UK tag team event, for his mix of "I" on Strictly Rhythm. The last of the soulful collection is "Live 4 Now", a very deep n smooth track. We pick things up courtesy of Mr Chandler and "Love Will Find A Way". It's a nice transition into the full on disco sound of Joey Negros "Music Speaks Louder Than Words". The next track is one of my all time faves from the 90's. I use to play it so much that the tape soon became warped McCabe pop ups one last time with a great stripped down mix of "Feel Alive". It's chunky monkey time now and Lovebirds get things going with "The Beast" before a real blast from the distant past. "Coreshine Voodoo" sounds like all the best things from the early 90's London Orbital scene rolled into one. You'd swear you heard it 20 years ago, but apparently it's new. "One" by Linkwood get me jumping all over the shop whenever I hear it (it can be a bit embarrassing on the bus in the morning) there's not much to the track, but's it's just so BOUNCY. Time for another musical style, and this time it's Latin with "Camino". The next track is borderline mainstream, but I never owned the original Layo & Bushwacka track despite having a soft spot for it. So here it is now, revamped and saxed up. We slowly start to ease back now with "She", followed by "Yours" which has done the rounds in the clubs for a while now. Last track of the mix "Learning To Love Me" takes us back to where we started. It was looking like a two mix month, but to be honest this is a blend of the best of both volumes. Thanks as always for everyone's support. It's you guys that give me the motivation to keep going and going and going...... If you like the mix leave a comment so others can enjoy too, if you don't like it, let me know, I'm a big boy I can take it[This mix was added on the 24 July 2011]
