Andy Dale (Soulmelt) born June 1972
At the early age of 11 years old Andy got his first synthesizer (Yamaha dx100). Even at such a young age he spent his time listening to UK, Chicago and acid house. Andy was influenced by artists such as Kevin saunderson (Inner City), Marshall Jefferson and Derrick May. Other influences included The Cure, Joy Division, Japan, Soft cell and general New wave music.
During the late 80’s +early 90’s Andy enjoyed clubs at weekend such as Back to Basics (Leeds), The Orbit (Leeds) and many other clubs. At this time of his live he was influenced by artists such as The Future Sound of London, Joey Beltram, the Orb, Slam, and Leftfield. By this time Andy was now using Synthesizer Juno 60, TX81Z and commodore Amiga to produce his music.
Once the Rave scene had slowed down in the 90’s Andy enjoyed going to events such as Southport Weekenders, this give him his passion for soulful and a more progressive sound of house music and became more influenced by a more mature sound like Miguel Migs and The Sounds of Blackness. Andy was also listening to a lot of experimental artists such as Pentatonic, Reload, Single Cell Orchestra and his favourite label were the likes of Reflective (Jonah Sharp), Warp and Soma Records.
He has also just gained music contracts on various Labels around the world. His style is a varied of deep tech, soulful house and techno. Andy is now ready for Djing and live shows one again, and brings the ‘Soulmelt’ sound to the clubs and Radio.
