Picture the scene, it's 6pm on a friday, you're going out for big night, a few drinks have already been consumed, and you've stuck some tunes on, quietly at first increasing the volume as it progresses. There is a buzz in the air, you know it's gonna be a great night!
This mix represents the time when I would be getting ready. I started off deep and hypnotic, slowly gaining the groove, as it progresses it gets a little funkier before dropping into a classic vocal. I bring it back again back in to the funky before finishing back where we started, in a deep hypnotic place. The mix is contain smooth transitions as this suits my mood, expectant by controlled enough to hold back until it's time. If i had finished on a high I would have lost the momentum before getting to the club, dropping back down enables my want to build back up and experience it for real in the darkness with my friends..
You'll notice that I'm really diggin Manuel Sahagun's tracks at the mo, so he gets a good rinse (old and new) as do a few others, don't let that bother you, close your eyes and feel it. I do
